Race rules

  • All bikes are allowed.
You may participate with any type of bicycle, as long as it has no motor or electric assistance. You are free to modify and equip your bike according to your own preferences, provided that no form of motorized or electric assistance is added.

  • Follow all traffic regulations.
The Ultra takes place on public roads and roads shared with other traffic. All applicable traffic laws and regulations must be respected at all times. Safety always comes first.

  • Follow the official route.
The official route must be followed in its entirety. If you leave the route for any reason, you must return to the exact point where you left the course and continue from there.

  • Follow the route using the official GPX.
The route is provided as a GPX file and must be followed using a GPS cycling computer or navigation device. Make sure your navigation device is working correctly and has sufficient battery capacity for the entire Ultra.

  • No drafting.
Drafting behind another participant is not allowed. You must ride independently and may not use another rider's slipstream to gain an advantage.

  • Duo teams may ride together.
Only participants who are officially registered as a duo team may ride together. You may only cooperate and ride with the person who is registered as your duo partner.

  • Help participants in need.
If you encounter a participant who is in difficulty or needs assistance, you are expected to stop and offer help when necessary. In an emergency, safety always takes priority over the race.

  • Check on fellow participants.
When passing or encountering another participant, we ask you to briefly check that everything is okay. A simple “Are you okay?” can make a big difference.

  • No pre-arranged outside assistance.
The Ultra is self-supported. You may purchase food and drinks along the route from shops, cafés, restaurants or other publicly available services.
However, you may not receive pre-arranged supplies, assistance or support from family, friends, supporters or a support vehicle. This ensures that everyone has the same opportunity to complete the Ultra under the same conditions.

  • Keep your tracker with you.
The tracker must remain with you throughout the entire Ultra and must be carried or attached in a way that allows for a good GPS and data connection. Do not remove, cover or shield the tracker in a way that could interfere with its signal.

  • Unexpected road closures or obstacles.
If part of the official route is unexpectedly closed or blocked due to circumstances beyond your control, such as roadworks, an accident or another temporary obstruction, you may choose your own safe detour. You must rejoin the official route at the nearest possible point further along the course. Detours may not be used intentionally to skip sections of the official route.

  • Respect others and the environment.
We expect every participant to show respect towards fellow riders, other road users, volunteers, local residents and the environment. Do not litter and help us keep the Ultra safe, respectful and enjoyable for everyone.
